Part of an international network of development expertise, UNDP has maintained a presence in Liberia well before the conflict and was a critical actor in the transitional period, concluded with the inauguration of the new democratically elected government.

UNDP Liberia supports the new government in its efforts to rebuild the country and works with and within the UN system to promote sustainable peace, stability and human development in Liberia , helping the country to realise its national development priorities, which are aligned with the Millennium Development Goals.

International Legal Assistance Consortium Ilac Liberia, Monrovia, West Africa

ILAC is a consortium of Non Governmental Organisations (NGOs) with experience in rebuilding justice systems, which has come together to fill a gap in current international capability.ILAC's aims are:

1. To put together a team of qualified experts to make an initial assessment of a justice system in a post conflict situation and, working with the host government, make recommendations on what is needed to rebuild that justice system. ILAC's reports reflect what resources are available in country and highlight the assistance that is needed from the international community.

2. To promote to IGOs, Donor Governements and the ILAC membership the recommendations of the initial assessment and help the host government and UN coordinate the implementation of such recommendations.

3. To provide a single, central source of reports, analyses, writings, experience and developing thinking on the challenges faced by justice systems in the aftermath of armed conflict.

Information Technology Assistance For Development Itad, Monrovia, Liberia, West Africa

ITAD is the acronym for the organization called "Information Technology Assistance for Development". ITAD is a non-profit, non-governmental organization based in Liberia (West Africa). ITAD is incorporated under the laws of the Republic of Liberia and accredited by the Ministry of Planning and Economic Affairs.

The corporation is comprised of a Board Directors, an Executive Director and a functional management team. This organization was established for the development of human resource and infrastructure in developing countries through the sharing and recycling of technology (Technical-Know-How and Equipment).

ITAD uses Information Technology assistance (Technical-Know-How and Equipment) as one of our key tool. In our effort to alleviate illiteracy, ignorance, Conflicts, Crimes, Poverty, and HIV infections in communities where majority of the inhabitants live in abject poverty, we have design several human resource development programs to capacitate and equip these poor people to improve their lives, the lives of other and their community.

We believe these poor people needs to be involved in the development program, if it must be successful. This is why we begin our programs at community level and then spread over an entire country as we acquire the needed resources. We conduct adult literacy program, Computer Literacy program, Counseling service, Workshops, Vocational skill training, and other programs to capacitate these people to implement what they have learned for the improvement of their lives, and their community.

Rural Aging In Liberia Inc, Monrovia, West Africa

War situations not only devastate infrastructures of nations; they equally break down lives of people across the board. People with high profile standing as well as the down throdden fall to destruction wars bring generally.

For Liberia, a small West African State of nearly three million people experienced one of Africa's bloodest civil wars which begun in 1989, and continued until 1997 with Liberians going to the polls to elect their leaders. In the seven(7) years period, lives of both young and old crumbled. Infrastructure including roads, power, water facility and all that support life todate lies in ruins.

Rural inhabitants who lack basic hospital and educational facilities, and proper diet suffer in different respects. Such respects entail sickness, aging, disease, malnutrition or dejection. In an effort to help empower Libber's rual aging population, a group of dedicated professionals and social workers setout to organize the RURAL AGING IN LIBERIA (RAIL).
